Work starts in earnest on the tub area, tile starting to go down. The color is Desert Sand and depending upon the light it is a light brown sand or as pink as Pepto-Bismol. Yes, it was a weekend to paint.
Duke and Roxie are questioning the purpose of being in the closet. The camera was screaming at me saying "What were you thinking". Bye the bye the inside of the closet is an off-white (can't tell it from the pic, eh?)
Yes, and paint we did . . . no gain no paint.
Roxy's room got a nice corn silk yellow. You are also looking into the mechanical room. And, they thougth I was crazy for having it textured, painted with mop boards.

Some day, when we get done all of this crap . . . er, valuable crap . . . er, closet stuff will find a home (maybe somewhere else).

Day before texturing

Finished exterior in back with all the scrap removed.
New bubbles for sky lights . . . hey we are going all out.
View of fireplace in bedroom . . . yes it is offset . . . Deb feels that it is artistically designed but the real skinny is that the chimney comes out the side and centering one of these is a real challenge.
Duke inspecting work . . . finds a McDonald's wrapper on floor and cleans it up. Who says dogs mouths are cleaner than humans? Finished front in need of landscaping.
Starting to look like a real house now.

Starting to look up and look like a real room. Texture tomorrow. Duke filing a formal protest, his door is not accessible . . . again.
Roxy inspecting her room and find that it is in order but in need of paint and flooring.

Let the games begin!

Yes, that is 50 sheets of 12' 1/2" contractor grade sheetrock shlepped in by John and Cormac (one of Deb's co-workers' sons). Along with 18 sheets of 12' 1/2" green board for the bathroom. And the fun begins with the hanging of the rock. Bathroom is moving right along.
AND, the siding guys are here.
Not the difference in the silver versus the green. 10 years difference in age, the green is twice as energy effecient.
Yup, that is a ton of fun (all puns intended). We had to special order aluminum siding with a special powder coated color to match. Steel siding is no longer available in the style and color we have.
Day 1 of Siding . . . should be done by Monday . . . Tuesday at the latest.

Fireplace installed

What is this, a fire in the fireplace in summer? Yup!Insulation all done . . . end of Itchy and Scratchy Show for now.
Fire at a flick of a switch . . . what will those engineers think of next?
Fire on . . . Fire off.
Fire on . . .
Fire off . . . I am having too much fun.

Things are moving at a fast speed! Fireplace to be installed today.

Mucho insulation, mucho discomfort? Dang, that is a lot of insulation.
Up with the insulation, damn the itchiness.
Electrical done with bonding . . . don't ask. Working with #4 copper and #6 copper is not fun . . . only later to find out I could have used #6 and #8. For those like me, bonding is grounding your gas and water line to the floating ground in the subpanel. We were also required to ground the "jetted whirlpool" motor. A bit excessive, but anything to please the inspector. And, no, he doesn't take bribes.
View from bedroom.
Insulation done in bedroom! Not as bad as I thought it would be.
